Salesforce today announced that it has been recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Low-Code and No-Code Developer Technologies 2025 Vendor Assessment, IDC’s inaugural report on this new category.

Why it matters: Low-code and no-code platforms are central to IT strategy, with 80% of IT organizations now using no-code and low-code app development tools. And with companies adopting agentic AI, these tools have become even more critical as 78% of developers say that they help scale AI development.
The Salesforce Platform makes it easy for companies to build custom applications, customize existing offerings, and deploy Agentforce, the digital labor platform. The report recognized Salesforce for strengths in the enterprise agent development ecosystem; low-code and pro-code tools for agent development; scalability, enterprise integration, and Agentforce API; and collaboration and observability across teams.
The report notes: “Salesforce delivers outstanding value for organizations of all sizes seeking to implement AI agent-driven automation and develop mission-critical applications that integrate with or extend CRM capabilities. The platform is well suited for both enterprises with significant Salesforce investments and small and midsize businesses (SMBs) looking for scalable, affordable solutions — thanks to flexible editions and AI-powered tools like Agentforce that streamline workflows, enhance customer experiences, and improve productivity.”
The Salesforce perspective: “Salesforce bridges the gap between admins and developers with its AI-powered, no-code and low-code tools, enabling hybrid teams to collaboratively build, test, and release AI agents and applications at scale,” said Alice Steinglass, EVP and GM, Salesforce Platform, Integration and Automation. “And we are continuing to invest in the next-generation of AI-powered tools like Agentforce for Developers to help teams turn ideas into elegant business solutions on Salesforce.”

Innovation in action: Salesforce’s investments in no-code and low-code developer technologies on the platform include:
- Expansion of its application development ecosystem: At TDX 2025, Salesforce unveiled its AgentExchange, a marketplace for partners building Agentforce solutions that businesses can use to rapidly build AI agents.
- AI-assisted low-code development tools: Agentforce for Developers helps automate routine coding tasks such as writing new code, explaining existing logic, and generating test cases. Agent Builder makes it easier for both developers and business users to create, customize, and deploy agents using low-code tools and AI assistance.
- Tools to scale business solutions: Developers can optimize and test their app and agent implementations with Scale Center and Scale Test, allowing teams to troubleshoot errors, identify issues with application performance, and improve how they scale.
- Solutions to help teams collaborate: Developers and admins can take apps and agents from ideation to deployment with DevOps Center, allowing them to safely connect and harmonize data while securely testing and deploying.
- Integration and automation capabilities to connect systems and automate businesses’ workflows: MuleSoft and its hundreds of prebuilt connectors for critical systems, databases, AI protocols, and industry standards help developers integrate data with enterprise quality and scale. MuleSoft’s automation solutions use low-code to seamlessly connect popular systems to actions and automate workflows, empowering business teams to drive efficiency across the organization.
