How DoseSpot Cut a 4–5 Day Billing Process to 1 Day with Tabs We’re excited to share our latest customer story featuring DoseSpot, a leading healthcare tech platform supporting 200K+ providers across the U.S. With a lean accounting team, DoseSpot needed a billing solution that was fast, scalable, and accurate. After a year-long failed attempt with a legacy billing tool, they turned to Tabs and saw immediate impact: 📉 60% reduction in billing errors ⚡ 3–4 days saved per billing cycle 📅 40% faster month-end close “Tabs was a night-and-day improvement. Implementation took weeks, not months and the UI is miles ahead of the other tool. We’re now closing the month faster than we ever thought possible.” — Derrick Rankin, Financial Controller at DoseSpot Read the full case study: https://bit.ly/3H5Mo4X

CEO of Puzzle Accounting and host of the Turpentine Finance podcast. YC, ODF, Village Global alumni.

Ali Hussain is one of the sharpest builders in finance right now. His company Tabs just raised $25M from General Catalyst and Lightspeed, and he’s moving fast. If you're building or investing in finance infrastructure, this episode of the Tech Finance podcast needs to be on your list. We talked about why revenue automation is still broken—and how AI is finally changing that. Most companies still rely on scattered tools and slow processes for billing, collections, and rev rec. Tabs is building a horizontal system that ties it all together. Topics we covered: - Why AR is still stuck in spreadsheets while AP, payroll, and spend got modern platforms - Why Ali still runs billing himself as CEO - What agentic systems in finance will actually look like (and what has to come first) - What it really takes to earn trust before AI can operate in finance This season, we’re focused on improving accounting with software and AI. This episode is one of the best examples of what that future can actually look like.

Great conversation at our finance leaders dinner at Zou Zou’s tonight! A warm thank you to everyone who joined, and special shoutout to Katie who tag-teamed with me to represent Anrok. Huge thanks as well to our fantastic partners and co-sponsors: Nicholas and Molly from Tabs and Albert and Grace from Aleph. …and to Louise, Molly, and Caitlin for the support ahead of the event! Here are a few quick notes from around the table: ➡️ Using AI to help discover the right AI tools (yes, really!). ➡️ Leveraging AI to sanity-check your financial models. ➡️ Simplifying reporting on complex deals with intelligent automation. 💡 A fascinating (and provocative!) idea also came up—the concept of the “one-person unicorn”: gradually streamlining a finance team, powered by technology and AI, until potentially only one person remains. Lots to unpack and build on from here. If you were there, what stood out to you? #anrok #saas #partnershipleaders

Modernizing Finance for the AI Economy - CEO & Founder at Tabs

The AI hype is everywhere — but what’s actually working in Finance? This week, I joined the legendary Sasha Orloff on the Tech Finance Podcast to cut through the noise and share how the smartest finance teams are using AI today. Honored to help wrap up an amazing month of fellow Top AI Finance Founder/CEOs on the podcast (recommend if you are a Finance Leader to check out the entire month of July!). We went deep on a topic I care a lot about: why revenue automation is still stuck in the past — and how AI is finally changing that. Some of what we unpacked: • Why revenue and collections have lagged behind AP, Spend, and Payroll • How to actually earn trust in Finance with AI (hint: no flashy demos) • Why I still personally run billing + collections at Tabs — and what that teaches us • What agentic systems will unlock for finance teams Big thanks to Sasha Orloff for having me on and pushing the space forward. Highly recommend checking out the Tech Finance podcast — and Puzzle 🧩🚀, another fantastic General Catalyst company alongside Tabs, Stripe, Ramp and Gusto. DoseSpot is one of the most impressive healthcare tech companies I’ve seen — and we’re proud to call them a Tabs customer. When Derrick R. (ex-EY, Controller at DoseSpot) came to us, they weren’t looking for party tricks. They needed a serious system to clean up billing — fast. Their old workflow? 🧾 300+ customers 📊 Usage reports + custom pricing by prescriber ✍️ Manual invoice entry into NetSuite ⏳ 4–5 full days a month spent just on getting invoices calculated and sent They were using a well-known billing solution — but it wasn’t built for the complexity of their business. Disconnected systems, rigid workflows, and too many month-end headaches. So they switched to Tabs, seeking a modern AI Native solution. Today: ✅ Usage auto-syncs from their platform ✅ Invoices go out in 1 day ✅ NetSuite updates automatically ✅ Month-end close is 40% faster ✅ Billing errors cut by 60% Derrick put it best: “The process used to be painful and time consuming. Tabs took that off my plate. I don’t worry about billing anymore.” That’s what switching should feel like. Not just time saved — but peace of mind. Big thanks to Derrick and the DoseSpot team for trusting us to power revenue operations at one of healthcare’s most mission-driven platforms. Case Study for those curious in the comments.

Co-Founder, Head of GTM at Tabs

Last week I got the chance to attend The F Suite's first-ever Deputy CFO Summit with Caitlin Lu. We work with a ton of Deputy CFOs at Tabs and have long thought that these leaders (Controllers, VPs of Finance, and other “everything but the kitchen sink” Finance operators) manage some of the tougher challenges in their entire orgs. This definitely came to light in all of our conversations at the event, including a Tabs-hosted roundtable on Leading through Transitions, as a few key themes bubbled up: 📊 Owning accuracy in a world that’s constantly shifting: You're expected to deliver clean revenue reporting, real-time ARR insights, and airtight collections, all the while pricing changes every quarter, contracts flex, and GTM adjusts strategy constantly 🌉 Being the bridge between ambitious founders and financial reality: The founding team is thinking big-picture vision and making huge AI investments, but you’re the one quantifying the impact, evaluating spend vs. ROI, and making sure the train is running on time 📈 Scaling process without slowing momentum: You're building controls, systems, and visibility into cash flow, burn, and compliance, but doing it with a skeleton team, a half-built NetSuite instance, and no clear source of truth Thanks again to The F Suite team for a day of thoughtful conversation, connection, and Golden Gate Bridge views!

    Cash application... but... easy?!

    View profile for Ali Hussain

Modernizing Finance for the AI Economy - CEO & Founder at Tabs

One of the biggest time sinks in finance? Reconciling payments. Every day, teams manually scan bank accounts, chase down remittances, cross-check PDFs and portals, and piece together what got paid and what didn’t. It’s messy, frustrating, and exhausting. In fact, many have entire staff dedicated to just this task. Historically, any form of “automation” if it exists has been rules-based: “If payment = invoice, mark as paid.” But what about: – A $0.03 underpayment? – Missing bank data? – Multiple payments for the same $ amount This is where most systems fall short — from legacy ERPs to legacy billing tools. And the result? Write-offs, delays, and way too many “we’ll handle it at month-end” moments. So we at Tabs built something smarter: Tabs AI Cash Application. It connects directly to your bank account and reconciles everything — intelligently and automatically. ✔️ Detects partial payments, fees, and underpayments ✔️ Applies payments to the right invoices, even without perfect matches ✔️ Flags bad debt and suggests accounting treatment ✔️ Cleans up books and accelerates your close All with no manual rules. No late-night cleanups. And no spreadsheets. Built with LangGraph for AI recommendations, LLM parsing, and real-time reconciliation flows — this is some of the sharpest engineering work we’ve shipped. 👇 Quick demo below. If you’re still reconciling payments manually, it’s time for something better.
