I will soon have to reinstall my operating system, in which Quake 3 Arena is installed. I've played single-player and got about halfway through that, but don't know where in the directory my progress is saved/created in. When I reinstall this game I would like to copy my user files, including my current progress to the new directory or the PK3 file. Where can these be found? I'm hoping to be able to copy my scores and statistics so that I don't have to start over from the beginning. Thank you.

I'd suggest that you copy your entire Q3A directory to a USB drive, then just copy/paste it right back after you reinstall your OS & wipe the drive.

You don't need to install Q3A for it to work.

Yup. That's how I've done it since Q3A came out (I think I've installed it maybe twice since it came out!). I've done the same with all of id's games except Rage, I never tested it on that.

Even ETQW works this way, but with that one all your custom settings are in My Documents/My Games/id Software/ETQW.

EDIT: if you log in to any of the IGN forum sites you'll see a red square next to "Alerts" telling you there's a reply to threads you've replied to. Not sure how to e-mail a reply though.
