What is a White Jade Dumpling?
A White Jade Dumpling is a consumable item in the game that fully restores your HP. It's as simple as that! As such, it's a pretty potent thing to use in a pinch, but it also serves another purpose.
If you speak with Qiao Ying on the first floor of the Shu Sanctum after delivering the amulet from Qiao Lin, she'll mention the White Jade Dumpling as a cure to all illnesses, and that she yearns to be able to try it.
Thus an untracked side objective becomes available to complete; so where can you find a White Jade Dumpling?
Where to Find a White Jade Dumpling
You can find a White Jade Dumpling as a reward for defeating the Gluttonous Monstrosity - Lu Hongliu boss in Luo Courtyard, along the main path leading out from Shu Sanctum. From the Sanctum, head down the steps and take the first right to cross over an invisible bridge (marked by a glowing floating stone).
Then head along the balcony of the house in front of you, and continue forward along the path until you reach a fork in the road. Turn right and go up the set of steps with two dogs and a gun-wielding enemy (beneath a torii gate). At the top of the steps, follow the path as it curves and winds around, ensuring the watch out for the boulder rolled at you by the large cannon-wielding enemy.
As you reach this enemy, loop around to the right and climb the ladder on the outside of the house and make your way along the rooftops. On the far side, descend the ladder to enter the area with the fire-breathing Fake Dancer enemy.
Whether you kill it or not, head up the left set of steps and follow the path forward to reach another crossroads. There you'll see a large set of steps leading up to a set of closed doors. Interact with these doors to begin the boss fight against Lu Hongliu.
What to Do with the White Jade Dumpling
Once you have the White Jade Dumpling, you can then return to Qiao Ying in Shu Sanctum and you can 'Share news of Lu Hongliu's death'. She'll be proud of you and ask if you got the White Jade Dumpling. You can select from the following options:
- Found it...
- Discarded...
You'll want to select 'Found it...', to which you can then 'Hand over the White Jade Dumpling'. Doing so will have her eat it and then realize you aren't her son, and she'll give you a Faint Red Feather and 3 Divination Crescents, the latter of which can be thrown to leave a light where they land.
Second White Jade Dumpling Location
You can also obtain a second White Jade Dumpling under specific circumstances. You'll need to have completed the above and given Qiao Ying the White Jade Dumpling in Shu Sanctum.
You'll then be able to find her later by the bridge next to the Hillswatch Shrine in Cloudspire. Speak with her and she'll request a Steamed Bunny Bun. So long as you have one in your inventory, agree to 'Hand over the Steamed Bunny Bun' and you'll receive 5 Divination Crescents.
Even later in the game, Qiao Ying will then appear in the top floor of a house between the Snowy Passage and Cloudspire Outskirts Shrines in Cloudspire.
Speak with her and she'll ask for you to confront the general of the army camp, a boss named General of the North - Ai Nengqi, as she gives you the Bamboo Tube.
What to Do with the Second White Jade Dumpling
After defeating Ai Nengqi in the camp nearby, you'll receive another White Jade Dumpling. Return to Qiao Ying in the upper floor of the building by the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine and give her the White Jade Dumpling.
