Minivans are a uniquely polarizing type of vehicle, with people either loving or hating them and few in between. What’s New for the 2025 Honda Odyssey
Honda updated the Odyssey’s styling for 2025, giving it a new grille and revised front and rear fascias. Inside, the van got new tech and a more ergonomic setup, and Honda improved the rear-seat entertainment system with larger, higher-resolution display screens.
Design
The Odyssey’s new look is sportier and more modern than before, but Honda retained the funky “kink” in its side profile where the sliding door tracks mount to the body. The rear D-pillar features a blacked-out section that gives the roof a floating look, and wheel designs vary between trim levels.
Powertrain
Honda equips a V6 engine as standard across the 2025 Odyssey line. It makes 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD). There’s plenty of power for commuting around town and cruising on the highway, but don’t expect many thrills. That said, the mill is capable of pushing the family hauler to 60 mph from a standstill in just 6.6 seconds.
The Odyssey isn’t the sportiest vehicle on sale, but its ride quality is fantastic, and it’s easily maneuverable in tighter spaces. The steering feel is responsive, and braking is confident in all situations.
Interior
The Odyssey seats up to eight people across three rows of seating. Cloth upholstery comes standard, along with heated and powered front seats. Honda equips fold-flat third-row seats, and all models get a sliding second-row seat unit. Top trims add leather, and ventilated front seats are available.
Technology
Honda equips a standard 8-inch touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster for 2025. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with SiriusXM radio, HD radio, USB inputs, seven speakers, and more. Higher trims get wireless charging, navigation, a rear-seat entertainment system, an upgraded 11-speaker stereo, household power outlets, more USB ports, and LED interior lighting. CabinTalk, an in-vehicle PA system, and CabinWatch, a camera system for the cabin, are available.
Safety
The 2025 Odyssey hasn’t received updated crash-test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as of this writing. Standard driver aids include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, lane-keep assist, lane-departure alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, and rear-seat alerts. Available driver-assistance tech includes front and rear parking sensors and automatic windshield wipers.
Pricing and Release Date
As of this writing, the 2025 Odyssey starts at $43,315, which includes a $1,395 destination charge. The range-topping Elite model costs $52,275 after destination, and Honda does also offer a few added-cost options.
