Word-to-RDL Converter Utility

The Word–to–RDL converter transforms Microsoft Word documents into RDL files, preserving formatting like headers, footers, tables, and images. It allows for easy generation of SSRS-compatible reports with minimal adjustments, streamlining reporting workflows. Report Designer

Enhancements:

• We’ve added support for the Google BigQuery data connector in Bold Reports, enabling direct integration with Big Users can now easily retrieve and use data from BigQuery in reports without additional middleware.

  

• We’ve introduced a Theme Switcher feature in Standalone designer, enabling users to seamlessly toggle between Light and Dark modes within the application.

  

  

• We’ve enabled ODBC data connector support for Azure, Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes environments for ClickHouse and Vertica databases.
• Added support for the Arabic (ar-AE) culture, expanding the localization capabilities of Report designer in Bold Reports.
• We’ve added drill through option for gauge report items (linear and radial), enabling users to link gauge elements to reports, URLs, and bookmarks.

  

• We have provided support for creating report parts directly from shared datasets on the shared datasets listing page.

 Improvements:

• We’ve introduced a new Break Disabled property for Rectangle, Chart, Tablix, and Map report items.
• We’ve added a new Outside option for the Data Label position property in chart series, allowing data labels to be positioned outside the chart series for all chart types.
• We’ve added shadow offset and shadow color properties for Chart Area and Series, improving visual presentation.
• We’ve enabled border and background color properties for chart titles, providing additional styling options.
• We’ve modified the chart axis interval property to accept decimal points, allowing for more precise data representation.

Report Viewer

Enhancements:

• We are excited to introduce a powerful new feature that allows users to export data visualization report items, including gauges, indicators, and sparklines, into CSV and XML formats.

  

  

• We have introduced full 3D chart support to enhance the visualization experience within the Report Viewer. We enabled 3D effects for column charts, bar charts, pie charts, and doughnut charts.

  

• We have provided support for the ‘ShrinkToContent’ property, which automatically removes whitespace and adjusts report dimensions when items are hidden, ensuring a clean layout.
• We have provided support for both Material light and dark themes in the Bold Reports Viewer component.
• We have introduced support for multicolored line charts in the Report Viewer, allowing each line segment to be uniquely colored to reflect varying data values and trends.

  

• We have provided support for the WPF Core platform in the barcode extension project, now compatible with .NET 6.0, .NET 7.0, and .NET 8.0, alongside existing WPF .NET Framework support.
• We have introduced marker style support for chart data points, allowing custom marker styles for individual data points based on specified field expressions.

  

• We have added support for shadow effects in chart series and chart areas, with customizable shadow colors and offsets, also applying to legend items.
• We’ve enhanced Azure Blob Storage in the shared cache for the enterprise server, ensuring consistent performance and scalability during heavy load periods.

  

Improvements:

• We have added support for the Preview Data Limit API, enabling the DisablePreviewDataLimit property to control the preview data limit in the designer service.
• We have added support for image fit-to-proportional sizing for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF export formats.

Report Server

Enhancements:

• We’ve added support to publish reports from master tenants to external tenants.

  

• We have provided support to export scheduled reports to an Amazon S3 bucket location.

  

  

• We have provided API support for custom attributes at the site level, user level, and group level.
• We have enabled Oracle support for the Bold Reports Enterprise application, allowing users to create and manage sites using an Oracle database as the back-end server.

  

• We have implemented a Create Report Part option in the datasets context menu, allowing users to directly create a report part from a dataset.

  

• We have implemented a feature allowing users to add sample report parts to the report server via the UI.
• We have provided Report Server settings to control the visibility of the Import Sample Data option and the code editor in the Report Designer and Query Designer.
• We have provided support to whitelist required user IPs in the Report Server settings, restricting access to the server for other users.
• We have provided support for installing Bold Reports in an AlmaLinux.
• We have added support to disable the site process schedule in the report settings page.
