Summary:

RSA announces the general availability of RSA BSAFE Micro Edition Suite (MES) 4.4 cryptographic toolkit.

 

 

Description:

RSA BSAFE Micro Edition Suite 4.4 is a maintenance release addressing bug fixes and security fixes. 

 

Customers using MES 4.1.x and higher are required to upgrade to MES 4.4 in order to benefit from the updated FIPS cryptographic module and additional security.

 

This version integrate Crypto-C ME 4.1.4 as its underlying FIPS provider. Some of the notable changes in MES 4.4 include:

  • Multiple vulnerability fixes and other security related enhancements.
  • Support for asymmetric key wrapping in CMS (via the RSA-KEM-KWS).
  • Improved FIPS compliance by using FIPS-validated GCM IV generation when using AES-GCM based cipher suites.
  • Numerous platform/environment updates.
