F-Secure acquires consultancy player Inverse Path
F-Secure has moved to bolster its consultancy and managed services operations with the acquisition of vertical player Inverse Path
F-Secure has acquired security consultants firm Inverse Path to bring on board some vertical skills that will bolster its position as a vertical player.
Inverse Pathm which is privately owned, has a strong background in the avionics, automative and industryial control sectors being one of the first to take a close look at the security implications of smart cars.
The consultancy specialises on looking at hardware security and the challenges that the tech faces in sectors that are facing disruption as a result of the growth in IoT.
For F-Secure the move is designed to add some muscle to the vendor's consultancy business and beef up the managed services side of things.
“As part of our comprehensive portfolio, we offer a vast range of cyber security services, such as red teaming, risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response and forensics. Inverse Path’s expertise is the perfect fit for our fast growing consultancy business. We’re delighted to have them join our team,” said Jens Thonke, executive vice president, Cyber Security Services at F-Secure.
The client base that has worked with Inverse Path includes some Fortune 500 customers but also mid market clients that are looking for consultancy around the challenges of keeping their hardware secure as well as the implications on their software estates.
Andrea Barisani, founder of Inverse Path, which has been operating for 12 years out of an Italian HQ, will come on board at F-Secure to head up hardware security.
"In the past ten years, Inverse Path developed a unique set of security consulting skills. This has placed us at the forefront of security research and made us a leader in embedded system security for emerging sectors, such as automotive and avionics,” said Barisani.
“We look forward to expanding our team. As combined companies, we can develop new capabilities to better serve our existing and future customers," he added.
