Shares in Shopify Jump 23% Following Integration with Amazon

Shopify this week announced that it has been selected as the preferred migration provider for Amazon Webstore merchants.

The Canadian company also noted that it now is providing its merchants with tools and services to help customers grow their online business and integrate Amazon offerings such as Login and Pay with Amazon, Fulfilment by Amazon, and Selling on Amazon.

Both Amazon and Shopify are leaders in ecommerce so it’s a natural fit that we would enable our retailers to seamlessly run their businesses across either platform,” said Harley Finkelstein, Shopify’s Chief Platform Officer. “Many of Shopify’s existing 175,000 merchants already use Amazon as a sales channel, and this will bridge the gap between our two companies, with just a few simple steps.”

Shares in Shopify jumped more than 20% on the news.
