Designed for publishers seeking a new solution for publishing current journal issues online, or for bringing their print publications online for the first time, the Current Scholarship Program promotes broad dissemination of scholarship and gives publishers access to a highly used platform that supports innovative digital publication.

Publishers in the program invest together in a shared technology platform, and JSTOR handles marketing and outreach around current journals to institutional markets.

Features

Publishers can take advanage of JSTOR's robust platform, extensive netowrk of institutional relationships, and trusted brand to promote their content. Highlights of the program include:

Access
JSTOR undertakes a range of marketing and outreach activities to promote and license publishers’ content to its network of more than 7,000 institutional customers in over 150 countries.

Discovery
One of the most well known and heavily used digital resources, the JSTOR platform offers a single, easy access point to archival and current journal content. Both publishers and users benefit from the platform’s powerful search and linking tools.

Preservation and Post-Cancellation Access
Publishers’ electronic journals will be preserved in Portico, ITHAKA’s digital preservation service. JSTOR also provides post-cancellation access to subscribers.

How It Works

For publishers not currently online, we will work together to launch the first electronic edition of your journal. For those already offering electronic journals, we will work with you to move your publications to the JSTOR platform.

Publishers handle all editorial work, approve their digital issues before publication, and continue to set pricing for their titles. JSTOR staff works to market and promote your publications in the institutional market. Publishers continue to handle their individual/society member subscriptions, as well as print production and fulfillment.
