Department of Civil and Structural Engineering belongs to the Aalto University School of Engineering.
The department was established in the beginning of 2008 by combining six units of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Laboratories of Construction Economics and Management, Structural Mechanics, Building Materials Technology, Bridge Engineering, Structural Engineering and Building Physics, Steel Structures, and the Institute of Building Services Technology.
Department of Civil and Structural Engineering offers university level studies of high international quality in various fields of Civil Engineering and Building Technology:
Studies are based on high quality research on these fields. Research and studies are in active co-operatation with the industry, society and international scientifical community. Research and teaching utilize modern information technologies and are in agreement with the principles of ecological development.
