The Personal Knowledge Management Planning Guide provides a step-by-step process to assist users assess their knowledge work practices and develop a plan to support and strengthen their work activities. The Guide builds on a model of pkm featuring four interrelated knowledge processes and is based on a view that as our work becomes more challenging and demanding we rarely have the time to step back and think about how we work and to consider ways to make work easier and more effective. Users are encouraged to use the guide as analytical and reflective tool to assess their work styles and approaches.

Supporting the Personal Knowledge Management Planning Guide is a short diagnostic tool that can help users assess their own performance based on the competencies included in the Personal Knowledge Management model.
