Permadeath vs Void Armament
Permadeath (run modifier) reads "When a non-champion unit dies it is purged from your deck"

Void Armament (equipment) gives a unit "Triggers on death: Purge this unit from your deck"

Why do these two rules interact differently with a non-champion endless unit? I'm trying to figure out how to read them differently but it seems like they should both do the same thing.

Because, as they very clearly state, one applies to champions, the other doesn't. What exactly is your issue here?

As the OP said, the difference they’re calling out is related to non-champion endless units. Specifically, the difference is that Void armament purges them, but the mutator doesn’t.

Anyway, I feel like the mutator should be reworded. Logically it makes sense to me that since you have to “opt in” to the void armament within a run it would still purge endless units whereas endless would work as a way to fight against the mutator, but the wording could clearly use some work.

It doesn't matter what would "make sense", or that you have to opt in to both of them. The way they are worded, they should both do the same thing.

Yes, I agree that if the current wording is going to stay, the functionality should change to match it. But imo the current functionality makes sense from a gameplay perspective, so I would personally opt for updating the wording instead; just toss a “non-endless” into the mutator description and call it a day. But one or the other should definitely be updated.

This discussion would have been a lot more productive if OP actually stated how the functionality of the two differs lol
Yeah but I'd already written four sentences and you didn't manage to read the third one before you replied so imagine how hard it'd have been if there were six.
