The game is not broken (at least not in the way you mention here), your expectations are.
However there are plenty of NON-roguelite deck builders out there, maybe try those instead?
Thats exactly what I will do. but your comment is stupid. i played many rougelites deck builders most recently: menace from the deep + 6-7 others .....The roguelite issue has absolutely nothing to do with it. This is just a very stupid design decision, especially ther hero spec like super dumb. Being unable to explore the mechanichs of the game itself is a bad design decision and if you want to suck up to it that's on you. It serves no purpose but to artificially expand the time you spend on the game,
Where to start with this...The *overwhelming* majority of deck-builders (Balatro, Slay the Spire, One Step From Eden, Roguebook, Inscryption, etc. etc.) do NOT allow you to pick your starting hand. That's not because those games are roguelites. It's because that's half of the challenge of deck-building in ANY card game. YOU have to determine not only what card combos would be powerful, but also how to draw out that power consistently. If the game doesn't allow you to do so, THEN there is a problem in the game design. However, this game - like every other game I just listed - does not have that issue.
You have a deployment phase that specifically singles out the monsters in your deck before the fight even starts. If you build your deck properly, this alone will let you start with exactly the same lineup in exactly the same places 90+% of the time. On top of that, you can add the deployable/intrinsic properties to any card to guarantee that they always show up on the first turn. Lastly, as with all CCGs, there are cards that draw more cards, and cards that look for other cards. As long as you build your deck properly with these gameplay mechanics and systems in mind, it's extremely easy to pull out the combos you want in every fight.
That said, failing to build a deck properly, has absolutely zero impact on the time you're spending with anything. Every battle has a turn-timer. Whether you build like an idiot or an expert, you're spending the same amount of time, either way, so your complaint about wasting time is ridiculous on its face. If you're going to try to justify your own incompetence, at least come up with an excuse that has some connection to reality.
And if you want to just give yourself more stuff

Shall we just let you set which bosses you get too while we're at it? Never fight Savage again.
