Male Gaze Content Alert
The "peach" part is very disturbing and using "peach"/"beauty" as a mechanic to attract followers is even worse. This Is objectification plus a arrogant disrespect to all female players. If there's any warning about this content in the steam store page, I won't even consider buying this game. I only played the first 2-3 chapters of the dancer storyline, don't know if there's any more disturbing contents in other stories. Very disappointed and annoyed by the male gaze in the story telling, requesting a refund.

I am not going to lie, I hated Agnea's character, I made a whole post about it, cause I really didn't expect to at all.

I don't really have that much turmoil about the "male gaze" (anything including your "cute" profile pic could be appealing to the male gaze).

I disliked the playing around intentions...if you want her to be about *that* then just do that...this whole playing innocent, and having even her younger sister do the "suggestion" for her, but her not being suggestive herself was a little ugh for me.

Not only does she have this weird "dance is art, but really it's about the *wink wink*", she is also portrayed to be this fangirl of other girls including her mother who she looks like she's cosplaying as - hate to say it but even the 'look' she copies better fits the mom.

It felt like following the twitter account of a fan or something, really disliked her story overall. I didn't feel it came full circle. The whole "I don't want to use my accent, oops I slipped" is also just another bleh aspect. Fake, copycat, latin dress, southern accent, men are happy?...what is this? I mean...it happens irl, but this is a fantasy game she is a main character IDK.

Every person she admires felt more "glamorous" than she is, and I was waiting for the turn around, but it never happened...which I just don't get the story tbh.

I was hoping it'll end up seeing some version of an interesting metamorphosis "finding yourself" including a new "look"...but...to be fair it's not like the other stories aren't tacky in comparison so /shrug.

I mean Throne is a whole fiasco of smutty notions that is just, play that out before you refund maybe - lol.

If B rated movies were a game, that's what all the stories felt like to me lol. B rated movies can be fun though...just...was latching unto the hope Square Enix goes back to compelling memorable "magical" stories lol. The mechanics were fun, music was good...that's all I got.

Yeah the really could have chosen a different way for agni to gain Followers. If you haven't played Ot1 yet it uses the same Jobs but the Dancer Story is completly different.

Play that one

Japan is still conservative. Check where the games originate from before you buy.

I hope you never find your way to emulators and old Japanese SNES/PS1 games because you’d likely suffer a nuclear meltdown.

don't speak for all female players, plz. I do NOT care about that at all. How is it objectifying? She's pretty and gains follows through her dancing and allure. Hello...??? What do you think pop stars and celebrities do?? They captivate and gain followers with their singing, acting and sex appeal. lolol aka Talent & Attractiveness. Also LOTS of handsome male characters for the females. Hikari, Parti, Tem & Os! Let the guys have something too lolol Och is a kid (which means she is NOT a waifu), so that leaves them with 3 adult female protags, come on now. let's have a little common sense here.

Well I do not speak for all female players I speak for myself and people who shared same view with me (in this case not you). I never considered speaking for people who agree with digital game male gaze because they are not within my consideration. Good for you if you feel fine with it and have fun playing it.

Yes those games are very conservative in how they portray women and they are criticized nowadays. Should be more warnings about this in game forums.

They're fictional Characters in a video game, why are you upset that objects in a game are being .. objectified? They're not real people, and as such it is fine to treat them differently. Fiction =/= Reailty, and any person who thinks that needs to seek out a therapist.

Game forums are also not responsible for putting warning contents on what a video game is about, the Company producing the game/Publisher is (and would be something you find at the Store Page/On the physical copy of a game). Don't make the mistake that it is the consumer's responsibility to warn you about things in a video game, when WE didn't make the game, just as when you buy something in a convenience store, the random customer frequenting that store is NOT responsible for warning you about whether or not that product could be say, salmonella infected.

While it's true that fictional characters aren't real, they can still serve as a reflection of societal attitudes and values. If a game consistently portrays characters in an objectifying or degrading way, it can contribute to the normalization of harmful stereotypes, even if the characters themselves are not "real." It's not just about treating them differently in a game; it's about what their representation in the game says to the player. Art and media shape how we perceive the world and people around us, and games are no exception. This discussion is not about censoring creative freedom, but about ensuring that media doesn't reinforce harmful norms that can affect players' attitudes toward real people. While it's true that publishers and game developers are ultimately responsible for providing accurate content warnings, it’s important to consider that the broader gaming community often shares its experiences and concerns about specific games. This sharing allows players to make more informed decisions, especially when a game might deal with controversial or sensitive content. While it's ultimately the responsibility of the publisher to include content warnings on the store page, players often look to forums to gain a deeper understanding of the game's themes, tone, and mechanics. Game communities have historically played an important role in making sure players understand what they're engaging with, and this can be seen as part of fostering a more responsible gaming culture.
