It's not a VC company. We actually usually buy majority stakes, this was a bit of an exception - www.tinycapital.com

Ack! Don't think there's any way to edit, either.

Hey Steve,

We view this as a business within a business. Nobody from the Flow development team is being distracted with Concierge, it's just another part of the MetaLab umbrella.

Also, I find it weird that you think us "focusing on monetization" is a bad thing. What's wrong with having a sustainable business?

Wow, no idea who's downvoting. Have a sympathetic upvote for answering honestly.

The video cost us way, way less than that.

We managed to get some nice launch press and a lot of organic word of mouth/referrals.

Of course, definitely a lot of money. We funded using cash from doing client work part-time.

I'm assuming most (all?) of the work was done in house, so did the $300k go to paying employees? Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm betting this is the calculation: hours of product development X hourly bill rate = $300k

"but it didn't copy it pixel-by-pixel" They used their image assets. How much more pixel-by-pixel can you get?

Just Flow, not GetFlow ;-) Appreciate the kind words.

The iDevice emphasis is a big turnoff for me. I'd have been more inclined to try it out if it only had a web mode, rather than touting its Mac and iPhone integration.

Hard to explain why. It almost feels like an elitist snub, or something.

Hm. We do have an awesome web experience—it's our primary focus—and we're working on a mobile-friendly web version as well.

Really love Flow. Tried Asana, but Flow is just better. My one critique - Flow MUST be cheaper to allow me to get my whole team on it. Come out with Team plans for $14.95 (5 people) to $24.95 (10 people), and I will have all of my friends and colleagues on it fast.

Just called Flow ;-)

Buy the flow.com domain already :)

Not true. We've been working on it for just over a year.
