Hello to our friends and collaborators in the automation community! As the Chair and Vice Chair of the Nephio Technical Steering Committee, we’re excited to announce the release of Nephio R5, a key milestone in our continued mission to enable open, cloud native automation for telecom and enterprise networks.
Building on the solid progress made through Releases 1 to 4, R5 introduces enhancements that strengthen the platform’s functionality, usability, scalability, and security, paving the way for broader adoption and more advanced use cases.
What’s New in Nephio R5:
- Support for multiple reconciliation agent types (ArgoCD and FluxCD) on workload clusters
- Scalability and robustness improvements to the Porch platform
- Support for bare metal clusters
- Expanded observability parameters, laying the groundwork for assurance features in R6
- Enhancements to the O-RAN cluster creation use case, plus early progress on transport orchestration with OAI
