As the Chair and Vice Chair of the Nephio Technical Steering Committee, we’re excited to announce the release of Nephio R5, a key milestone in our continued mission to enable open, cloud native automation for telecom and enterprise networks.
Building on the solid progress made through Releases 1 to 4, R5 introduces enhancements that strengthen the platform’s functionality, usability, scalability, and security, paving the way for broader adoption and more advanced use cases.
What’s New in Nephio R5:
- Support for multiple reconciliation agent types (ArgoCD and FluxCD) on workload clusters
- Scalability and robustness improvements to the Porch platform
- Support for bare metal clusters
- Expanded observability parameters, laying the groundwork for assurance features in R6
- Enhancements to the O-RAN cluster creation use case, plus early progress on transport orchestration with OAI
