Set up pay-as-you-go services for document processing

This article describes how to set up pay-as-you-go services for document processing for Microsoft 365. Before following the steps in this article, you need to set up pay-as-you-go billing.

Requirements

You must have SharePoint Administrator or Global Administrator permissions to be able to access the Microsoft 365 admin center and set up pay-as-you-go services.

Important

Microsoft recommends that you use roles with the fewest permissions. This helps improve security for your organization. Global Administrator is a highly privileged role that should be limited to emergency scenarios when you can't use an existing role.

As an admin, you can also make changes to your selected settings anytime in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Set up pay-as-you-go services

  1. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Setup, and then view the Billing and licenses section.

  2. Under Billing and licenses, select Activate pay-as-you-go services.

  3. On the Activate pay-as-you-go services page, select Get started.

  4. On the Pay-as-you-go services page, select the Settings tab, and then select Document processing services.

  5. Select the service that you want to set up.

  6. Choose the site options that you want to use, and then select Save.
