  • According to BigCommerce's 2025 Industrial Buyers Report, 51% of buyers use distributor sites for product research. ❇️ For Distributors:  This means your data needs to be CLEAN and CONSISTENT to provide the user experience to compare products, find the specific information they need and have that confidence of purchase. ❇️ For Manufacturers:  This is where you are in direct competition with your competitors! Whoever has the best data wins. Make sure your data is COMPLETE so that you don't lose market share to the others. And get that data to your distributors QUICKLY so you don't lose the race to market 👏 Chantal Schweizer

  • Selling data is hard. No one wants to invest in it. Until you show them the cost of not doing it. Lost sales.  Slower time to market.  Teams stuck doing everything manually while competitors move faster. Suddenly, spending $5 per SKU to automate and get ahead doesn’t sound so bad. In fact, it pays for itself. Sometimes 5x over. On this episode of The Ecommerce Edge, Sam Russo, MSIT, ACP, AAP 🏎️💨 Russo joins Jason Greenwood to break down why clean data is now a growth driver in the automotive aftermarket. 🎧 Link to the podcast: 🍎 Apple: https://lnkd.in/gHhbcxUk Spotify: https://lnkd.in/g7BsAiZY 🟥 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gmThZGpzautomotiveproductdata #automotiveaftermarket #tailoredcommerce #betterdatasellsmoreparts

  • According to Industrial Supply Trends, Global Industrial is leaning into three core strategies to drive growth: 🔹 Exclusive brands 🔹 Digital experience 🔹 Sales enablement for strategic accounts These aren’t just good ideas. They are proven strategies from one of the most modern distributors in the market. Here’s what others can learn: ✅ Private Label Expansion High-margin growth relies on strong product data, scalable taxonomy, and effective syndication. Your PIM and content workflows need to support rapid SKU expansion and multi-channel merchandising. ✅ Customer-First Digital Experience B2B buyers expect real-time inventory, personalization, and mobile usability. But none of that works without a clean, consistent data foundation. ✅ Sales Enablement at Scale Your sales team needs more than a CRM. They need tools that deliver customer-specific pricing, product availability, and quoting instantly. At Pivotree, we help distributors turn these strategies into action by: 🔧 Building strong data foundations 🔧 Powering next-generation digital commerce 🔧 Enabling profitable growth across channels and accounts Want more of this? • Taxonomy should strike a balance between flexibility and simplicity. If it’s too complex with too many levels or too many attributes, it becomes harder to manage and less useful. Here are a few key guidelines: ☑️ A depth of three to five levels is ideal for most e-commerce use cases ☑️Avoid using unlimited attributes. ☑️Focus on the ones that are needed ☑️Configure systems based on current business needs ☑️While leaving room for future changes ☑️Take cues from best practices used by leading brands and partners Overcomplicating your taxonomy can slow you down. Working with partners and following proven practices can help you build a structure that’s usable, scalable, and easier to manage.

  • Let’s say a retailer asks for product data in a specific format. A syndication tool like PDS takes your internal product data, applies business rules, and transforms it to match what the retailer needs. That might mean: ⏩ Resizing digital assets ⏩ Converting 6" to 6.00 ⏩ Mapping your attributes to their taxonomy ⏩ Reformatting fields so everything lines up ⏩Then it sends the data over, fully compliant. This only works if you’ve got a few things right: ☑️ Your internal and external taxonomies are properly mapped ☑️ Your data transformations are automated ☑️ Your workflows are tracked to catch issues early And if a retailer updates their requirements, your mapping and transformation rules need to update too. 🏃➡️ Fast 🏃➡️ Syndication is about making sure that data is usable, accurate, and ready to go.

  • Everyone keeps talking about speed in B2B ecommerce. Faster platforms. Faster shipping. Faster everything. Speed doesn’t mean much if buyers are still confused. If they can’t find the right product, don’t trust your inventory, or have to guess what they’ll pay… you’re not moving them forward. You’re just making the mess happen faster. Clarity is what makes the difference. It’s what turns clicks into confidence and confidence into sales. Let’s stop chasing speed for the sake of it and start making things easier to understand.

  • Using your ERP to run digital orders? That worked ten years ago. The problem is that ERPs were built for stability, not speed, or agility, or omnichannel orchestration. In this new article, Matt Johnson breaks down: ✅ How to tell if your ERP is holding you back ✅ What a modern OMS does ✅ How it fits into your stack without a rip-and-replace ✅ Real examples from distributors who are already cutting delivery times and improving CX If order complexity is rising and your ERP can’t keep up, it’s time to rethink the setup. 📖 Read Matt’s full article below: https://lnkd.in/eUMA9zvZ
