Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: this is my personal portfolio site, so I wanted to customize it in the same way I would with my work. I really didn’t want my site to look anything like a sleek, user-friendly portfolio template. I’m very drawn to things that are kind of ugly and cliche but cute at the same time, so I wanted to employ a lot of default fonts, colors, and functions on my site and use them in a new way. I’d say my site is a Brutalist one because it is a bit confrontational and annoying. All the mixed colors and the excessive amount of scrolly parts make the actual structure of the site apparent rather than disappearing behind the content.
